The Last Unicorn

I *heart* Quark film forums. <3 <3

Anyway, tonight's movie is an old favorite of mine--if only they would stop with the ridiculous boobs and the singing. (At least they don't usually have both at the same time? lol.) I can't remember the first time I saw it, but I was pretty little, and so I blame playing waaay too much WoW on how much I was laughing at it. Let me explain: during almost the entire time, my brain was taking the movie and... translating it.

Translating it so that the scene in which Molly Grue couldn't find any wine becomes one in which she left the water in the bank. Luckily, Schmendrick is a mage. Problem solved.

As for the fight scene at the end... well, let's just say that if druids had unicorn form it would be the ultimate example of how NOT to fight as a group.

They spot the boss, Amalthea changes to unicorn form (presumably it has good dps) but is quickly overwhelmed. Lir yells at the mage to do something or he'll kill him--Schmendrick has to point out to the stupid noob that tanking is the warrior's job, not his. The warrior takes this to heart, but has crap for gear (he went up against a giant flaming bull barehanded, for crying out loud!) and DIES. Apparently he's the druid's bf in real life, though, because she gets mad, and with the mage and (I dunno, does Molly seem the priest type to you?) providing backup, manages to take out the bull. Someone rezzes Lir, who seems kind of out of it, Amalthea says something about a good group but leaves rather quickly, and Schmendrick and Molly decide to go level up together somewhere. Yeah, they probably exchange phone numbers, too. But I'll bet you anything Schmendrick is a girl IRL, and the whole thing fizzles out in a couple weeks anyway.

Well, so I was just joking on that last part. But you see what I mean? hehe.

As for elaboration on the grout story---basically Aunt Cathie spent about an hour trying to wake me up to go clean the grout. Yes, with a filthy toothbrush, which she left in my room. (No, it was not mine.) And then the rest of the day was spent bugging me about my room, which eventually got cleaned...

She seems to have a good sense of humor, though, since she asked for a print of the comic.

Which may or may not be a weekly occurrence. We'll see.

Tuesday

Dragonaut -the Fanart-

yes, fanart. hehe. (Actual title of the show, if you weren't aware, is "Dragonaut -the Resonance-".)

Depicts the main characters, and their possible future child, who just happens to bear a strong resemblance to another character (my favorite) who was killed last episode. :(

The plushie is her dragon. hehe.

The worst way to wake up, ever.

There's a long story behind this one, but yeah, that conversation did take place, pretty much as shown.
If you really want to know, I'll go into more detail in my next post. For now, though, let's just say I had an... unpleasant awakening this morning.

My inbox is made of fail.

No, really, it is.

I think it's broken.

I want to think it's broken.

Because if it's not, that means it's been three days since anyone emailed me. And it's not like I haven't been writing to people--I spent like an hour typing up two days' notes for a girl in the other section of my StDev class, and I sent some random funny stuff to certain people...

Yet no one is replying. I am saddened.

I'm not that boring, am I?

In other news, my scanner is now working, so I shall begin posting artwork once more. Including a comic with no name. Yay!

Also, Jon gets many hugs and smiles for giving the most awesome birthday gift ever: the new "Cheerilee" plush!

She's the bottom one in this image...does the cuteness not consume your soul? YOU MUST FULLVIEW!! <3

Comic shall be posted shortly!

Friday

School and such.

Keeping on top of it. I find I still have much free time. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! and Cromartie High School are nice and absurd and good for filling up time, but mostly I've been sleeping. I find that I have very little energy, but I can stay awake as long as I have something interesting to do.

Our new D&D campaign starts tomorrow; Jon will be picking me up and then I think we'll go and pick up a couple pizzas for everyone first. We've smuggled pizza and soda into the library before; it shouldn't be a problem.

I still have to level up my character (the political rogue) to third level. The extra feat should be quite useful. I think I'll do that after my shower in the afternoon.

For classes, I have half a mini casual essay, three class evaluations, and the homework for chapter 4.1 in math. Not much to do, but it'll keep me busy.

Maybe I'll level my warrior a bit, too.

Sunday

First post of the new year...

Winter semester starts tomorrow, and I'm only feeling a little apprehensive. Mostly, I'm excited, though a bit nervous about how math will go since my text isn't in yet. (I'm taking algebra instead of chemistry to meet some prerequisites for other courses.)

My religion class has a truly MASSIVE supplementary packet--we're talking more than 10 pages a day--but hopefully I'll be able to get it read ahead of time so nights aren't stressy. Similar thing with student development, except that one is a bit smaller and looks much more interesting. I already finished the introductions for both, so I'm all set for class tomorrow.

Math, student development, and religion are all on mondays and wednesdays (two hours of math each day, one at 11 and one at 3), and then tuesdays and thursdays will be welsh only. Since the welsh courses are both evening classes, working shouldn't be a problem as long as I can fins a job with little to no previous experience required. And fridays are gloriously FREE.

Being back in Utah again is kind of weird. The weather took a turn for the worse as soon as my plane landed on friday night, and this morning we actually had HAIL. Still, I've been having fun--yesterday I even ran a short scenario for my DnD group and I think it went pretty well. Though I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon; it was just something that -somebody- had to do, and I volunteered... it feels good though.

I'm feeling really good overall right now, in fact. Partly I think it has to do with putting myself in a positive environment all day--I'm getting ready for classes, I watched 12 episodes of Shugo Chara (MUST see! Soooo cute! and very, very positive), and reading the text for my student development course was actually kind of fun; there's a lot of stuff in there that I think I can use.

I feel ready to tackle whatever I have to tomorrow--maybe even cleaning out my bento box (I forgot to before I left for winter break... yeah, big oops).

Wish me luck!
